At the WordCamp San Francisco conference. I’m mostly attending the user sessions to learn how to better use WordPress better for my work, school, and personal blog.

Risk: The Game
I have never played Risk before, but I had one of those special edition bookshelf versions so I decided to take it for a test run.
It is a LOT of fun, and reminded me of how much fun you can have with a game that doesn’t have a controller plugged into it.
So far, I’m losing — but I will prevail in the end!

Horseback Riding, Palm Springs Part I
After a suggestion from some other hotel guests at where we’re staying, we joined them for some old-style horseback riding through the desert. The views were amazing, and for a first-time horse-rider, I did pretty well. I even got my trusty steed to a gallop. Here are some of the pictures with links to the others. The trip took us to a reservation where there was a oasis and park where we rested briefly and then headed back.

Quality Finds in Alameda
Last month, Mike and I made a trip to the Alameda Flea Market. When I originally went there for the first time, I didn’t know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised when I had a great time. I also got a lot of exercise walking around the giant space — it’s huge!
The market contains tons of stuff, and for someone that is looking for more “techy” type of stuff, it’s hard to find some good items; however, I realized that most of the fun is looking at some of the absurd things that are at the market. “There’s something for everyone” rings very true here, but I’d like to meet some of the people that pick up some of these quality pieces:

Adobe Update
My apologies for the “blog-freeze” since my last posting. It has been a few months, and I could say that I have been extremely busy with my new job, but that isn’t an excuse!
Actually the last couple of months have been very busy. I am in the process of starting an official Adobe blog in the upcoming weeks to web development and workflow items, and will keep personal items on my personal blog, which will be getting an update and a facelift.
Thanks! I will be back soon with lots of great material…

Adobe: Day 1
So as most of you know, I started a new job today. I have left my position at DHAP Digital for a new role at Adobe leading the product management group responsible for designer and developer workflows across all Adobe applications and services. My first day was filled will information, starting with a pretty comprehensive orientation presentation and a wonderful conversation with my fellow team member, Bruce.
Talking with Bruce reinforced why I wanted to come to Adobe. I’m working with intelligent and passionate people regarding the products they love and nurture. Bruce and I easily talked for over two hours about just a small aspect of the work we’re going to do together and our vision for the future of interactive technology and the media industry.
Although I am filled with an amazing amount of fulfillment and excitement about my new role, it does come with some sadness. I do miss my old team at DHAP. They are an amazing group of engineers and designers that I can safely say I’ll never have an equal team experience with in the future. I consider every one of them close friends, and I hope to continue that strong friendship as time goes on.
While I do miss my former team and coworkers, the smile I had on my face walking to and from work today was infectious, and is a feeling I hope to keep for a long time.More from Adobe in the future! (Oh, and my plants are still alive, thanks to Mike *grin*)

MAX Day 1
I’m attending the MAX conference in Chicago this week. My company’s project for Industrial Light & Magic is a finalist for the MAX Award this year. Check out these photos of the MAX General Session, including our site on the giant screen!

Gardening, Week 3
Not much to report this week — We had a surpirse shower over the weekend (it’s got what plants crave, it’s got electrolytes!), so I didn’t need to water anything. There are more blooms and some new growth! Check out the photos!
